------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. INCREASE TIP: Increase by making 1 yarn over. On the next row purl the yarn over from the wrong side/knit from the right side to leave a hole. The new stitches are then worked in stocking stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- TOP - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth with circular needle, top down. The front piece is worked in 2 sections until the straps and V-neck are finished, the 2 pieces are joined, then finished back and forth. The back piece is worked in 1 section, back and forth. The straps are sewn onto the back piece and the side seams sewn to finish. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 11-11-13-13-15-15 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and DROPS Paris. Work 1 strap as follows: ROW 1: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, work 7-7-9-9-11-11 GARTER STITCHES – read description above, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. Repeat this row back and forth for 6-8-10-12-14-16 cm (the strap is later sewn to the back piece). Insert a measuring-marker here. Continue as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Work the first 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches as before (band), knit 1 (stocking stitch), work the last 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches as before (band). ROW 2 (wrong side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches as before, purl 1 (stocking stitch), work 5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches. On the next row start to increase for the armhole and V-neck as follows – read INCREASE TIP: Work the band stitches as before, increase 1 stitch for the armhole, work stocking stitch until there are 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches left, increase 1 stitch for the V-neck, work the band as before. Continue back and forth, increasing every 2nd row a total of 7-8-10-16-11-8 times on each side = 25-27-33-45-37-31 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue in the different sizes as follows: SIZES S, M and L: Continue the increases, every 2nd row 8-8-5 more times, but every 2nd increase is only for the V-neck (do not increase for the armhole). A total of 15-16-15 increases for the V-neck and 11-12-13 increases for the armhole = 37-39-41 stitches. The piece measures approx. 13-13-13 cm from the marker. The increases are finished in sizes S, M and L. Finish after a row from the wrong side. SIZE XL: The increases are finished in size XL = 45 stitches. The piece measures approx.13 cm from the marker. Finish after a row from the wrong side. SIZES XXL and XXXL: Increase for the V-neck every 2nd row 4-8 more times, at the same time increase every row for the armhole (from both the right and wrong side). A total of 15-16 increases for the V-neck and 19-24 increases for the armhole = 49-55 stitches. The piece measures approx. 13-13 cm from the marker. The increases are finished in sizes XXL and XXXL. Finish after a row from the wrong side. ALL SIZES: = 37-39-41-45-49-55 stitches. Lay the piece to one side and work the left front piece. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 11-11-13-13-15-15 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and DROPS Paris. Work 1 strap as follows: ROW 1: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, work 7-7-9-9-11-11 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. Repeat this row back and forth for 6-8-10-12-14-16 cm (the strap is later sewn to the back piece). Insert a measuring marker here. Continue back and forth, increasing every 2nd row a total of 7-8-10-16-11-8 times on each side = 25-27-33-45-37-31 stitches. Start from the right side on the right front piece, work the band stitches as before, knit until there are 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches left, work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, cast on 1 stitch, work the first 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches on the left front piece in garter stitch, knit until there are 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches left and work these stitches as before = 75-79-83-91-99-111 stitches. Insert 1 marker; the piece is now measured from here. Cast on stitches as follows on each side for the armholes, at the same time as working fewer garter stitches mid-front for the V-neck: ROW 1 (wrong side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches as before, purl 27-29-29-33-35-41, work 11-11-13-13-15-15 garter stitches, purl 27-29-29-33-35-41 and work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches (band stitches no longer worked). Cast on 4-6-7-8-9-9 stitches at the end of the row = 79-85-90-99-108-120 stitches. ROW 2 (right side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, knit 33-37-38-46-52, work 7-7-9-9-11-11 garter stitches, knit 29-31-31-35-37-43, work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches and cast on 4-6-7-8-9-9 stitches at the end of the row = 83-91-97-107-117-129 stitches. ROW 3 (wrong side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, purl 33-37-38-43-46-52, work 7-7-9-9-11-11 garter stitches, purl 33-37-38-43-46-52 and work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches. ROW 4 (right side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, knit 35-39-40-45-48-54, 3-3-5-5-7-7 garter stitches, knit 35-39-40-45-48-54 and work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches. ROW 5 (wrong side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, purl 35-39-40-45-48-54, work 3-3-5-5-7-7 garter stitches, purl 35-39-40-45-48-54 and work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches. Continue the stocking stitch with 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches on each side. Work until the piece measures 21-22-23-24-25-26 cm from the marker. On the next row from the right side increase 9-9-13-15-15-15 stitches evenly over the stocking stitches = 92-100-110-122-132-144 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work as follows from the wrong side: 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, rib (purl 2, knit 2) until there are 7-7-8-8-9-9 stitches left, purl 2 and 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches. Work this rib for 4 cm. Cast off a little loosely. The front piece measures approx. 25-26-27-28-29-30 cm from the marker and approx. 44-47-50-53-56-59 cm from the cast-on edge. BACK PIECE: Cast on 53-55-57-59-61-63 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and DROPS Paris. Work as follows: ROW 1 (wrong side): Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, knit until there are 2 stitches left, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1. Work this row back and forth for a total of 6 rows. Now start to increase for the armholes on each side. Increase 1 stitch inside the 5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches on each side, every 2nd row (each row from the right side) as follows - remember INCREASE TIP: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1, work 3-3-4-4-5-5 garter stitches (5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches), increase 1 stitch for the armhole, knit (stocking stitch) until there are 5-5-6-6-7-7 stitches left, increase 1 stitch for the armhole, work 3-3-4-4-5-5 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with strand in front, knit 1 (5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches). Continue this pattern back and forth, increasing every 2nd row a total of 7-8-10-16-11-8 times on each side = 67-71-77-91-83-79 stitches. Now continue in the different sizes as follows: SIZES S, M and L: Increase inside the band stitches on each side every 4th row 4-4-3 times. A total of 11-12-13 increases for the armholes = 75-79-83 stitches. The piece measures approx. 15-15-15 cm. The increases are now finished in sizes S, M and L. Finish after a row from the wrong side. SIZE XL: The increases are finished in size XL = 91 stitches. The piece measures approx. 15 cm. Finish after a row from the wrong side. SIZES XXL and XXXL: Increase inside the band stitches on each side every row (both from the right and wrong side) 8-16 more times. A total of 19-24 increases = 99-111 stitches. The piece measures approx. 15-15 cm. The increases are finished in sizes XXL and XXXL. Finish after a row from the wrong side. ALL SIZES: = 75-79-83-91-99-111 stitches. Insert 1 marker; the piece is now measured from here. Cast on stitches for the armholes as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 band stitches as before, knit (stocking stitch) to end of row (do not work the band stitches), cast on 4-6-7-8-9-9 stitches at end of row = 79-85-90-99-108-120 stitches. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, purl (stocking stitch) to end of row and cast on 4-6-7-8-9-9 stitches at end of row = 83-91-97-107-117-129 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches on each side. Work until the piece measures 21-22-23-24-25-26 cm from the marker. On the next row from the right side, increase 9-9-13-15-15-15 stitches evenly over the stocking stitches = 92-100-110-122-132-144 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work as follows from the wrong side: 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches, rib (purl 2, knit 2) until there are 7-7-8-8-9-9 stitches left, purl 2 and 5-5-6-6-7-7 garter stitches. Work this rib for 4 cm. Cast off a little loosely. The back piece measures approx. 25-26-27-28-29-30 cm from the marker and approx. 40-41-42-43-44-45 cm from the cast-on edge. ASSEMBLY: Sew the straps to each side of the back piece. Sew the side seams down as far as the rib, leaving a split in each side. |
